The ancient arts of Greek or Roman have almost become extinct because of modern digital drawing software available easily. This also means that you can have your goods directly brought to your door step without moving or going anywhere.
Information technology has brought the world together. It has allowed the world`s economy to become a single interdependent system. This means that people share in formation quickly and efficiently. People can bring down the barriers of linguistic and geographic boundaries. The world has grown in to one big global village.
Information technology has been efficient in the creation of new job opportunities. Computer programmers, hardware and software developers and many more other well paying jobs have come up as a result of information technology.
Costs associated with information technology
However much information technology has been efficient and produced good results that are advantageous, it came with its own costs. While it may have changed the business processes and transactions, it has also created redundancy, down sizing and outsourcing in jobs. Lower and middle age jobs are done by people who risk loosing their jobs (Dhunna and Dixit 792).
Information may have made communication quicker, easier and efficient but it has also brought out privacy issues. This is realized through phone signal interruptions, email hacking and others. People are now worried about their information which could be confidential.
Lack of job security is also one of the costs that came with information technology. Technology keeps on changing and diversifying, therefore if one does not move with the current technology then he or she risks losing a job. People have to continually and consistently respond to the ever changing information technology so that they are kept updated and do away with the possibility of being sacked.
Information technology has done some good in promoting a global market for all people in the entire world. This has resulted in two cultures namely the dominant and the weak. In nations where the information technology is not available or is available in minimal quantity lag behind in every aspect as a compared with those that are well equipped technologically.
The information technology has not just brought good things with it only. It has brought along things like pornography which taints the image of society.

Information technology has various components in itself for example cell phones, fax machines, pagers, email and internet. All these are very important in communication and passage of messages. Therefore information technology should actually be promoted and enhanced through improved technology. Although it has a few disadvantages to it, the advantages cannot be wished away. Information technology has really changed life in a positive way and made things easier to do. Generally technology should be motivated to make life easier and enjoyable even when working.
